What Fraud Made a Whistle-Blower $30 Million Richer?

Toothpaste Manufacturers Put Plastic Microbeads in Toothpaste

A dental hygienist in Phoenix was puzzled when she noticed some of her patients’ teeth were riddled with little blue dots.  Those little dots turned out to be a plastic known as polyethylene. The plastic was getting caught between their gums and teeth, increasing the chance of gum disease.  Most of the patients were brushing with some form of Crest toothpaste.  Once the story broke out, Crest announced it will no longer mix the little plastic balls into its toothpaste....
